Termites are known for their damages caused to homes. They are one of the most successful insects on earth. Their colonies can be from a couple hundred to several million in one colony. The termite queen has the longest known life span of any insect with some queen’s reported living 30 plus years. 

 

How to prevent termites around structures is by keeping all cellulose materials away. Also keep an eye out for dripping water or high moisture around the home. Keep any wood to ground contact away and keep the soil line four or more inches below the top of the slab/foundation of structure.
